Different cooling&flushing plan of mechanical sealing system

API Plan 21  The flushing plan from the outlet of the pump through the restrictor orifice and the heat exchanger into the mechanical seal chamber.

API Plan 23 The cyclic cooling&flushing plan of which the flushing fluid flows through the heat exchanger along the pumping ring of the mechanical seal chamber and then back to the sealing chamber. suitable for working conditions supplied with boiler water or hot water above 80,as well as working conditions like hydrocarbons and chemical fluids.

API Plan 52 use external tank to provide buffer for an non-pressurized , double-end mechanical seal. This solution is usually used in occasions where the pumped liquid must be restricted from leaking to the atmosphere, and it is also used in places where the pumped liquid will solidify in the atmosphere or heat caused by inside mechanical seals need to be cooled .

API Plan 53A uses external air to isolate the liquid storage tank, and to provide clean isolation liquid for the sealing cavity of double-end mechanical seal. This solution is used for occasions where the pumped fluid cannot leak to the atmosphere.

API Plan 53B is a way to use bladder accumulator to provide pressure to the circulatory system. The circulation of the Isolation fluid is realized by installing a pumping ring.
